Roofing Tar Paper Roads??????

Has anyone tried using the black roofing tar paper for roads on
an N-Scale layout??? If so,how did it work? It looks to me as if it would be an easy way to go unless there is a problem I'm not seeing.Input please. EMACGIS@aol.com

I was thinking along the same lines but thought the 15# felt was a bit too coarse for N. But I did see a different product at Home Depot that I'm going to try. It's relatively thin and comes in a lot smaller roll., about 12" wide. I thought when I was to that point in my layout I'd try it. Don't ask me what it's called, I think it's used underneath seams and edges and was right above the rolls of tarpaper.

Oh yeah, this is just an opinion since I really haven't gotten that far yet in my first layout. Just about anyone else here has more experience than I do and I hope one of them comes along to let us both know if we're on the right track on this
