I'm back. 8 years ago I was working quite a bit on cardmodels, but I had to get a job :-( and that cut into my time. I held the job for 6 years but burned out and it was a low paying job. I realized that if I refinanced my house I could afford to write science fiction full time. I did. I published my first book last February--self published. I do the book design. My next book will come out next February. I'm finalizing the proofs and received a proof copy this morning. Cardmodeling comes into this because basically a paperback book is a card model, same paper, same glue. I've gotten back into card modeling to produce maps of SF worlds. I'll post additional threads for book design and for my models. This photo is of my model which will be of the moon, which is 27% the size of an in scale to the 8" globe. The paper on the globe is left from figuring out the size and shape of the panels. I set out first to make an 8" model then scaled down to work faster.
