despite numerouse attempts, and stareing for hours at the blown up parts diagrams, i haven't been able to get the shell off my SD-45, or E-33 from bachmann spectrum.

If it follows the practice of some other Bachmann Spectrum engines, the fuel tank needs to be removed, allowing access to two or more screws which secure the shell to the frame. The couplers may need to be removed as well.

remove fuel tank and two screws that are hidden under there, remove the coupler retention screws and then pull the coupler out and the shell should come off easily.

yeah i did that, but the shell stayed on firmly, and the motor just ened up bouncing around in the shell. it took me 15 mintues to get the whole in the motor to line up with the hole sin the bottom once i couldn't get he shell off. there appears to be 4 plastic tabs holding the shell on to the frame, and i can't seem to get them to detach. is there somethign else i'm doing wrong?
