Rainbow Dash

Hi there.
I finnaly went to my favourite copy centre to print Daishi's Grunt, but then I saw giant notice board *closed for 14 days because of holidays* wall1
14 days without papercrafting. No way.
For a long time I have wanted to make my own papercraft, so why not now?
On DeviantArt I found nice 3D models of ponies http://www.deviantart.com/art/Pony-Model-Download-Center-215266264
Many thanks to author, by the way.
And because RD is my favorite pony I decided to make her. There are some overlapping faces which I need to fix, but it's almost done  And then unfold it...
Not much pictures, it's quite boring stuff. Just one picture how-it-will-look-finished.

Looks really complicated. I hope you post a build thread. I would like to see one of these come together. :)

Sure
So, the unfolding is complete YAY!
The wings will be extremely hard to build, but we'll see.
I will go print it on the Tuesday and I hope the copy center will be open.

That looks so intimidating to me. There have been many figures I have wanted to make, but they look like they are easy to mess up. I'll be watching. :)

Dash is printed and I've started with both back legs.
Now, the thighs and the plot

Another progress. The plot is finished, now starting with the belly. And tail. Connection of legs to plot is a bit tricky.
Next time I must do it a bit differently. If there will be next time, of course  (Trixie looks wery cool with her cape and hat..)

As I previously stated, I'm not particularly into this genre, but it's technique and insight into the complex shapes impresses the heck out of me. This is a great model. You have done a fantastic job! :)

Very nice build. What paper weight did you use ?
Just a tip: I find it very helpful to cut the taps to trapezium size instead of the standard triangle size (you cut of the top triangle for this). The top of the tap isn't really helping in the bonding of the pieces but it can get really in the way when putting the pieces together.

I wonder if this program used Non Euclidean Geometry, where the triangles can never add up to 180 degrees, if working with the program become easier? :)
