Forty years ago I bought a half dozen HO kits with the dream I would someday build a layout. Well, I'm working on that part now, but that's not my mystery. One of the kits I bought was a box car with the road name "TP&W" "Links East and West". Does anyone have any idea what the "TP&W" might be/have been?

I suspect the TP&W stands for the Toledo, Peoria & Western railroad. This railroad is located in central Illinois and Indiana, running (as the slogan suggests) east-west. Despite the railroad's name, the closest the railroad gets to Toledo, Ohio is Logansport, Indiana.

That line, if not swallowed up, was still a flying flag until very recently. In fact, there was an article within the past 12 months regarding an upgrading of motive power for that line.
