Not difficult at all, just lots and lots of tiny parts.
What I really hate of making tanks its the amount of parts that those little weels need to be completed!!! it really sucks, but the final look is amazing
It takes a real dedicated modeler to do those treads, I guarantee that!
Lots and lots of repetitive cutting!
that's true Amazyah, a real dedicated and pacient modeler (I wanted to add that word )
oh god:cry: not them:-o :-o not the tiny part:cry:
im farely new so I thought this one would be a good start
ummm what are the best tools I should have at my disposal???
Scissors and glue are the most important and you can build card models with just those two things.
For the real tiny parts, an excel or x-acto knife would come in real handy and makes the small parts a lot easier to cut out.
Keep reading posts in the "Tools of the Trade" forum and all the build threads will give you great tips and advice.
what kind of glue? standard white??
Yup, good old Elmers is just fine, or any standard white glue will do.
Later on when you get used to making paper models, you can get some Aleens tacky glue. Elmers makes a tacky glue also.
It looks the same but is thicker and dries faster.
I get the impression you haven't got a lot of experience building card models....
I think you'd find the GPM PzKpfw IVH a bit too tough to take on. This model has a full interior and runs to something like 1500+ parts. If you really want to do a Pz IV why not Modelik's Pz IVG - it goes togther pretty well, doesn't have an interior and is a lot easier to build. I think most of the AFV model builders in the forum have started with simple models and worked their way up to the complex ones.
If you want to do AFV models - get a circle cutter - invaluable for all those roadwheels.
Model from GPM it is more difficult, than from Modelik. And still it is necessary to add, that convergence of details not at the highest level.
Some my tools:
Continuation. Still external elements.
Elements of transmission
Place an rifleman - radio operator.
And a general view.
Looking awsome Edikk!!! :thumb:
