Proto dummy

I recently got a few proto frames which are dummys. I want to convert then to powered but i can not find what gears to use in the trucks or what size. It looked like i could use Atheran gears but they do not work. I have done this on many athearn units with great sucess.
Does anyone have any ideas or has anyone done this?

any help will be appreciated...

I am not certain, but aren't the dummies essentially just the body without working parts?

The Athern units were easy to go back and fourth with, as the frames were the same, so by grabbing some powered trucks, drive shafts and a motor, you could power a dummy easily.

the proto units may be set up completely differently. I once almost bought an O scale dummy locomotive, and a drive mechanism from the same company for a friend. fortunately I looked before I leaped, as the frames were different, and it would have been hell to mount the body on the driven mechanism.
