I am looking to buy a deep v hull capable of reaching speeds around 50mph. I was looking at the prather 31'' deep v but i am not sure what size engine i could put in that. Anyone out there running that type of hull? What kind of set-up are you using? I want to build the boat from scratch but i need a little help first.

Would you like a hull that is cheaper and all around better than the Prather 31"? I have a Speedmaster 21 hull available from or . Mine ran great the first time on the water with it only needing the carb adjusted! It now runs at over 50 MPH and turns like it is on the proverbial rails. Get the Speedmaster hardware for it but the boat doesn't need the trim tabs or a turn fin saving you even more money.
I won't comment on my feeling towards Prather but they do make some nice props and cable grease.
