php files

    So, how do you open php files?

    PHP is not a file extension. It is a programming language for server side scripting for dynamic web sites.

    PHP language files are stored with a .php file extension.

    I think what may have happened is that rather than clicking a link and the target php script serving out a file the original author tried to save the link. All he would get is a .php file. PHP files are usually just script so they can be opened with any text editor like Notepad. The caveat is that there are compiled flavours of PHP which are mostly binary.

    Steffe, and Charlie, if you check the website, you will see that there are other programs which save files with the php extension
