I'm making the move to "studio" lighting for model railroading layout photo's using strobes. I'm thinking initially of buying one strobe kit with umbrella and maybe a soft box (if you guys think it will work). I will be adding another strobe, but until then I will be purchasing a slave to fire an older flash I have.
Is there any reason I might need anything stronger than 400 watts of light for the strobe?
For lens I will be using a Vivitar Series one 19 - 35 zoom which I will be upgrading to a 17 - 40 Canon L lens. I also have a 100 macro lens I intend to use. Any suggestions? I am using a Canon Digital Rebel. I will be firing the strobe wireless radio.
