P42 replacement motor?

Hi everyone,
I'm looking to replace the motor in one of my Athearn P42s. No matter what I do, I can't seem to get this motor to run nicely. It's rather noisy and performs poorly.

Do you have any suggestions for replacement motors or ways to improve the performance of the stock motor. It seems that lubricating the bushings helps for a short while.

thanks for any help!

So I had an older Genesis SD70 on the sidelines. I opened it up and sure enough the motor was about the right size. I readjusted the motor mount and dropped it in the p42 using one P42 drive shaft and one sd70 shaft to get the lengths right. The installation looked pretty good, and it ran powerfully/smoothly...but what a noise it makes! Next stop is to create a dampener for the solid plastic motor mount.
