Thanks for starting this thread. I got myself a copy of IL2 1946 and this game is really cool. I love hyperlobby. Believe me there is nothing more exciting than joining a server with 30+ people and be chased by 3 enemy planes.
I also recommend watching Flyboys. Good movie for sim fans. I love how they made these planes appear to move like modern jet fighters See you in the game ppl.
Welcome fimdan and KAZ to CAF 96th. Got a nice little group of cardmodelers over there now
Anyone else interested feel free to stop by and let them know lightning sent ya
please note that inthe forums there is lots of stuff that you cant see until you get inducted into the squad.

Those look great Yaniv! Gonna stick with 1946 til I get good at it though - I can consistently do carrier takesoffs and regular landings..... carrier landings though - not good, I have destroyed the stern of many a good carrier now.....
Have you seen Dark Blue World? if you can still get it watch the 'making of' and see how Jan Sverak upset his father by 'blowing' $1,000 dollars by asking for the spitfire to fly round 'one more time'
Thanks for the invite as well Chris, see you up there!
Never heard of it - going to have to check that one out Kaz!
Anyone still playing IL2 Sturmovik 1946? I am looking for more people to fly with (or dogfight against)

Fouga CM 170 Magister
A nice view of the Magister, we used to get them coming through 4 wing at Baden Soellingen regularly. I can still recall shaking my head when the guy in the backseat strapped in, and had a 25 inch TV which he had bought on sale at the Canex lowered onto his lap for the flight back to the south of France. I know for a fact that the controls could not be moved over their full range, not to even think of what would happen it they had to eject.
Never heard of a crash, so I guess they made it home ok.
