My fictional Brownstone & Paradise units are black and silver, with the noses currently set as black. But in retrospect, should they have bright colored stripes on them ???? Is that regulated / legislated ????

Most dark-colored units I've seen have white or some other color stripes at the front . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . easy enuf to do, but I would like to check what the regulations require b4 I go ahead and do it.

Mike -

As I recall, the Rock Island went from solid maroon to the maroon & yellow scheme, with yellow for both the nose and tail for this reason (safety/visability). The red & yellow scheme and blue and white also follow this pattern.

I think that was also the reason for the BN black and white stripe nose (although the tail is green).

I don't know if this was an acutal law or just a safety recommendaion, however (nor if it is still in place in this electronic age).
