Recently spent megabucks on a Z400 and Realtrax for a new O gauge setup. Should I or do I need to solder all track pieces in a permanent setup?

Great track choice. This type of track is for people who hate to ballast the track layout. You can run this stuff anywhere.Just make sure your rails on the connecting piece is touching and that it makes a snug connection in the plastic joiners.Only solder this track if you plan on never moving or upgrading your existing layout.Once you solder it the track pieces are pretty much finished unless you are willing to spend a considerable amount of time cleaning all the leftover solder and possible track damage.Screw the track to your layout and make sure it is tight and neat.

As a 2 railer, I have only been able to see this track once, from what I saw, it was nice track, and what Ron says is true, it's for people who hate to ballast their track, I only wish they would do that for 2 rail.....................:) :)
