Help! I'm setting up a Lionel set and I would like to know if anyone can offer a scale conversion for O gauge? An inch equals what in scale feet? Thanks for the help!!

Lionel scale can be a bit tricky. A lot of Lionel starter sets are actually scaled closer to 1:64 or 1:55, but most people use 1:48 scale buildings and figures and 1:43 or 1:50 scale vehicles with Lionel, regardless of the actual scale of the train, due to availability.

Strategic placement of off-scale items (larger items up front, smaller items in back) results in a layout that looks larger than it really is, so this isn't as much of a problem as it may first seem.
