I have just purchased the latest TCS 1278 Decoder which will fit into our older analog engines.
It is in two parts and fits into each end of the frame where the old light boards are.
Now we don't have to send our older engines away to be milled at $15.00 each which also loses some weight.
It does take work such as a little filing and soldering but it is fairly easy.
It will fit into GP9s, SD40s, RSD4/5s, GP30s, U30Cs, etc. etc.
Can't wait to get some more.
You can check this out at the tcsdcc web site.

TCS CN Decoder installed

Well I now have my latest TCS CN Decoder installed into my older model Kato SD40 and it runs just great I have sent off a disciption and photos of the install to TCS so hopefully it should be on their web site soon.
It does take some minor frame modification but I found the installation was fairly easy.
