After building several layouts with Code 100 rail (and several N-scale layouts), I've begun my first HO Code 83 shelf switching layout, based on a design by Linda Sands in "MR Planning". With luck, I'll be able to incorporate this shelf into a round-the-walls layout some time in the future.

My neighbors were remodeling, so I was able to scrounge several hollow core doors, one of which I laminated extruded pink foam onto for the benchwork.

I'll try to post some construction progress pictures as I experiment with some different things, if anybody's interested. Now if I could just get my favorite Athearn engine to quit to the coffee grinder imitation... :p

You have got my curiosity. Which Athearn engine do you have and what is the age?
