    --------

For SP fans this represents a landmark locomotive in N scale
    mass-production steam locomotives.

It was first proposed by Kato Japan in the mid 1980's and was
listed in their 1985 International catalog as an export model
(artist's rendition only), with a stock number one number higher
(do not recall the number at this time) than the GN S-2 4-8-4
which Kato had recently released through ConCor in the USA.
With the termination of their business relationship at the end of
the 1980's the project was cancelled.

As most of you know, ConCor's 4-6-4 Hudsons and the recently
reintroduced GN S2 4-8-4 are now produced in China. Their
new Budd passenger cars are also being produced in China.
I would presume these new SP Daylight releases will also be
    made in China.
