New layout, tracks?

Hello,

I would like to build a new "small" layout (3x6 or 3x7 max) in N scale. KATO tracks look good, but I was wondering:
Where can I buy Online at the best price Kato tracks?
Where can I find some information on how to paint/weather/ballast Kato tracks?
I want also to go DCC: my retailer told me Prodigy Express was enough, Prodigy Advance more dedicated for club...What do you think?

As to weathering and ballasting the tracks, I am no expert, but did my layout with Bachmann EZ track (also a plastic roadbed) and found the normal ballasting mixture works well BUT add a bit of carpenter's glue to thicken it up a bit. With my track, the regular ballasting mixture didn't adhere to the plastic roadbed as well as I'd like. There are some great shots and hints on this website on weathering track, ballasting techniques, and DCC. Doing a search on any of those key words will give you a lot of results. Best of luck!
