Finally, I have received three Athearn Genesis 60' Berwick box cars, ordered in January (!).
They are outstanding!  I haven't see -apart Kadee- better H0 cars (neither more expensive! ).

The two D&RGW's are OK, but the UP one have the internal weight loose :( I have read elsewhere that the first batch of these cars (the yellow UP's and others) are prone to have this small kirk. Hum, it will need to go to repair shops. I really don't like to mess up with RTR material, but I can profit for add a bit more weight to this cars.

Here are some pics. I suppose that I could have them better posted into the "Photography, Books, ..." forum, but because the ti-N-y people are recently joking about fast mices and slooow cats & others, this posts will 'pump up' some the H0 forum :D :D :D
(Ya, people, no jokes about our BIG engines! :D -In fact, this cars seems more like european '0' scale ones than 'H0')

Great photos, Topo!

Also good looking HO cars - maybe Athearn will do some Rock Island in the Genesis line someday, I hope!

No layout yet

Hello Bob, George & Shane

Thanks for your kind attention. I have ordered two more of these D&RGW cars. They will look great behind the Grande' GP60s that L&L will release in November under the P2K line. :p

Bob, I would be pleased to show you images of my layout but... shame on me: I still haven't layout! :( But I have planned to start the "track survey" this summer
After years of only using my hands for abusing computer' keyboards, I'm afraid that my model skills are as if I had bananas instead of fingers.
But by now, the wise RR management is busy spending (investing?) the shareholders money in the purchase of new locos & rolling stock. The Preiser employment agency has been contacted too, but no workers will be hired neither facilities built until August/September. Our business strategy is also an all times classic: ask stockholders to raise more funds, and lobbying around the authorities (er, ...my wife) for the real state and the building permissions :D :D

I'm actually operating my locos on my local club's layout. It's a really old old layout, centre-european style, built ±35 years ago with plaster over wire mesh. We join the wednesday's night, so I can take some pics of it tomorrow and have they posted in the "Photography,..." forum later this week. You can have a laugh...

These are the actual -and sole, by now  - Spanish Rio Grande Subsidiary facilities (as you can see, no workers scurrying around the track. Well, no layout either!) The poor guy inside the loco seems bored to death, but he's really sticked to his job :D

Hi Javier,
Your photography is great. So much so that it's the first time I've seen the detail on the Genisis series. Are these separate grab-irons on the boxcar? Also I now regret not having a look at the Genisis locos while I was in Denver! The detail is excellent.

Oh dear! I just looked at current prices of Genisis here in UK! My wife would impound my assets if she thought for a moment that I'd paid 18 Pounds GB ($25 US) for a single car and have me commited to a mental home if I'd spent 150 Pounds GB ($207 US) for a plastic bodied HO loco.

So Javier, just keep posting pics so I can admire the products without feeling like pulling my credit card out like I would be tempted to in a store. :)

Thanks for the kind words, Errol :)
I have some Genesis F units, and I can say that they are far the best F plastic locomotives that I ever seen. Tomorrow I will take some close images of them and I will post they here (I hope to be able to cath the grille detail: it's superbe).
