I know there are several methods to model neon signs, but before I plunk down cash in an ultraviolet lamp and flourescent paint, I'd like to hear your opinions. These are my points:
- The blacklit flourescent paint trick is relatively economical, but you can't make the signs blink like the real ones (and, isn't it a bit dim?).
- The electroluminescent material made by this electronics company (the name escapes me) looks very nice and can be animated but it's a bit expensive and it has a major flaw - you can't model individual neon tubes.(by the way, how does that one work?)
- Is that company that makes illuminated plastic "neon" tubes still around?
