need good ideas for working loading tongs in N scale

Yesterday, I've finished the wooden tunnel frame of my logloader. So I've arrived at the next problem.

What to use as loading tongs to load 1/3" logs on flatcars.

Any ideas

A logging railroad has to transport logs from the landing to the logdump...

My dream is to represent the real operations in N-scale.

I think I will try to cut some out of brass... hooks are also a good idea.
