I first try to use the plastic plug that holds the truck to the car. When that doesn't work, I have an assortment of small sheet metal screws. Sometimes I use a drill bit as a reamer to open the hole to fit the screw or an oversized plug.

I'm sure there is someone here that has a better idea than that. ;) ;)

Generally, you can drill and tap for a #2-56 flathead or ovalhead screw. Using a flat or oval head screw will automatically center the truck. While you may use self-tapping screws, that presents potential for being off-center. Use a tiny dab of blue threadloc to keep the screw from loosening, and you're all set. (just a tiny dab, so you can remove the screw when you want to...)
