Here is my first attempt at an HO scale loco. I chose the MDC shay because I felt I needed a challange. I built the kit according to the "How to Build MDC shay" book. I replaced the motor with an A-line and installed an NCE decoder.

Sorry bout the weathering :) Thats the way I like it.

This loco is based off of the freelance railroad!

Runs like a champ but not as quiet as some of them new-fangled bachman offerings. Still runs great.

Hi David, the weathering is fine, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. You did a grand job on it and the colours look great.

It almost sounds like you are married to my wife! She is always complaining (nice word for it) about me ruining nice new shiney stuff with weathering. I tell her it's cleaner than her truck, if she goes and washes her truck then she can complain about my dirty trains. FRED:D

I got one o' them Bachmanns. They're nice, but nothing like a homebrew :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:
