Started out as a bright sunny day, Pink Floyd's The Wall playing in its entirety on the radio, and a Timmy's coffee to enjoy on the 401. (No, my cup was not a winner.)

There were several layouts at the registration hall. Here is my daughter Alexis admiring the O-scale collection of Peter and Marg Graham.

First layout to visit was the excellent O scale Aberfoyle Junction. Unfortunately while we were there they didn't seem to have many trains running, and they didn't do the nighttime display either.

I don't have any pics of the 2nd layout we visited.

Third layout was Wayne Tessaro's Ontario Southwestern, in O scale.

After lunch we drove to Kitchener to see Dieter & Matt Engelman's Conrail/NS Southern Tier. There is some excellent detail work on this layout.

Also in Kitchener we visited Tim & Vita Warris' excellent Port Kelsey Railway. This is the last open house for this layout since they are moving, so we were glad we stopped by. The layout is for sale, comes with a free house. There is some excellent trackwork here, which most people came for, but it was the structures that caught my eye. Here my wife and younger daughter are admiring the original portion of the layout.

In Waterloo we saw Chris Bramble's CN central Ontario. Looks like he's off to a good start.

Here's the Baden Model Railroad club. This was to be their last open house too, since they are disbanding due to lack of members (and $$). We were pretty disappointed to hear that, since it's one of our favourites.

The last layout we visited was Graham MacDonald's Ottawa, Arnprior, & Parry Sound Railway, which has a very interesting history. This layout is well researched and very well done.

A quick note about the picture with the yellow houses, there is some neat forced perspective there. The houses are approximately the same distance from the backdrop, but each one is progressively shorter as you go back from the road.

Hey Chad you did a lot with the kids, Great pictures!!!

Aberfoyle Junction, You should have told the guys to get things moving LOL , Also their 24hr clock is about every 35mins, unless you ask for a night scene.
Seriously The guys are helpfull and do oblige if they can.
Every thing was moving when we were there .

I counted 12 to do next year.

I was unaware of the 35 minute clock there. I thought it was quicker than that, since they had done night time the past 2 times I was there.

Did you enjoy the picture of the electric unit on the cover of the tour guide?

Chad,

Great pics - looks like everyone enjoyed themselves. Thanks for those pictures of the Ottawa, Arnprior and Parry Sound. Any chance you have any more that you didn't post?

Andrew, those are the only 4 I took (too busy hanging onto kids to get more :) ) Maybe my buddy took some more pics of it - I'm still waiting to get copies of the pics he took.
