Hi everyone my first card model is under way. a suggestion from a fellow card modeler, it's the Mr. HAL-9000 from SF Paper Craft.
printed out on 110# card stock , cut out and starting to form it up. The peices are all jumbled together on my work mat.

Off to a very good start!! Cutting these things up is a thankless job! :)

But worth the effort in the end!!!
It is very rewarding when it all starts to come together.

In most cases, it is always best to score and fold as much as you can, BEFORE cutting out the final shape.

Looking good!:thumb:

Which brings to mind another question, what should be in a good starter tool kit for paper models?

In any case, you still can build the one you cut out... the scaling and size will be just off by a little... (more squat).

the pieces were all the right width but a tad to short to make up for the difference between A4 and 8 1/2" X 11" (216 X 279mm)

The PDF is sized for A4.

This pic shows the gap left by the scaling
