I like cardboard, it's cheap and easy to work with.

That one is O scale. The trucks are resin castings. The patterns for the molds were built from scratch.
Good thing you built them years ago. If you built one today the government would make you put ADA compliant bathrooms in each one. plus the material on those seats would have to withstand temperatures of 1200 degrees and that stove would have to go before you could take on passengers.

Good stuff ,Ray...brings back a lot of memories of the older methods of car building, that are sadly fading away,along with so many of the craft elements of the hobby.
