1+1=3 for very large values of 1.

A school had an opening for a math teacher, and narrowed the pool of candidates down to three; a math major, a physics major and an economics major. The three candidates were given an interview and asked one question; How much is 1+1?

Math Major goes to black board and writes 1+1=2.

Physics Major goes to board and writes out long, complicated formula proving that 1+1=1.99999999999e.

Economics Major just says, "Well, how much do you want it to equal?"

I strikes me that the version below is not as funny. In fact slightly tragic, in what is says about our education system.

Why does the original version not seem to say anything about the education system?

Also, try substituting "a black student" for "a student" and see what happens to the punch line...

Whew! I guess Sweden is just as "PC" as the USA.

I personally thought the joke was funny regardless of the "she" or "he". That wasn't the point.
