Maly Hampden

  1. Has anyone built this model? Can you recommend it?....I ask because i've heard that Maly models are not very good quality.

    Thank you for any guidance..

    I didn't build this kit but the date of publication (1994) and the name of the designer (B. Wasiak) suggest that you will deal with rather poor quality paper and printing plus it will be rather simple model. Could have some fit problems, but it's buildable with fairly decent results.
    No wheel wells and very simple cockpit.

    Hi, Fly models also make an older version of the Hampden, it is marginally better in print quality, has a rudimentary cockpit, no actual wheel wells but the gear folds into the engine nacelles so that may not be too much of an issue. You can find the out of print Fly on ebay, spishop, the new german shop (sorry I can't remember the name but it was announced here), and a shop based in the US. I don't know who designed the Fly version but I had both and it was definetly better.
