This is my first attempt at designing a "real" cardmodel, and I plan to do it with the "full glory" of panel lines, paper thickness, connecting strips etc... (That is, if I ever finish the design:-D )

I only managed to find a 3-view drawing on the subject, and a bunch of photos. (Definitely seems like the Chinese air force don't want to say too much about that ~)

The first night was spent tracing the outlines:

(P: If anyone could provide a link to detailed cross-sections I'll be more than grateful.)

Yaniv, it's not my first design, but rather my first design at something non-fictional ;)

And I did have some more progress after surviving my exams...

Had a bit of hard time figuring out the cross-sections, but I've got through that. Next up would be wings.

Spent ages fiddling with wingroot... I guess that's the most troublesome part for both a designer and a builder (from my personal experience). Things still don't look quite right yet, but I'll stick to this one unless I can come up with a better shape...

Nezard good job. Looks very good.

All the surfaces can be flated? I'm a newbie but some surfaces looks to me aren't good to the unroll command.

Well spotted my friend, at this stage I'm just trying to get a decent shape out of the drawings. All the surfaces will be processed later so I can unroll them.

Vertical tailfin proved to be a real troublemaker... Now that's been dealt with, it's finally time for some details. Yay...8)

    Beautiful Work Nezard!

It's interesting to note that the Chinese took an Isreali-designed prototype (the Lavi) and actually improved upon it to produce a capable 21st Century fighter aircraft...

I second that thought...BEAUTIFUL IS THE ONLY WORD THAT CAN APPLY!
