I am going to purchase this locomotive this weekend:
http://www.davistrains.com/search/displayproduct.asp?id=24870&mfgid=6&gaugeid=-1&roadid=5&catid=-1&perpage=25&orderby=sku&skusearch=&keyword=

If you read the description part of it says "Equipped with the NMRA 8-pin plug for DCC ", so iIbe using tyhe Bachman EZ Command DCC System.

What do I need to buy to install to make it ready to roll? is this part called a "loco decoder"?

Perhaps link me to a site with the product I need or tell me the correct terminology to send me on my way.

Yep.. What you need is a "mobile decoder" with the standard 8-pin connector.. Plug it in, program the loco with your DCC system following your particular system's instructions, and you are set to go.

Lots of manufacturers make decoders... Atlas, Bachmann, Digitrax, NCE, etc. etc. Any of the standard 8-pin mobile decoders should work with that Atlas loco.

Great purchase by the way. Those Atlas engines run like swiss watches. :thumb:
