I took my son to a live steam open house. We had a grand time. They operate 1" to the foot, 7 3/4 gauge, and G scale. The rides are free and the members love to talk about their hobby.
In a few weeks they are having thier annual Modelrailroaders Run Day. They don't advertise it much. They let you take equipment on the high iron for a spin, supervised of course. It is alot of fun.
