lionel vs railking

    i did some searching but didnt see what i was liooking for...most will probably think this is a dumb question but is lionel compatable with railking? in other words could i run lionel stuff on railking and visa versa? thanks

    The original Lionel (and MTH railking) is what is known as traditional-sized O gauge- it's generally smaller and basically semi-scale (1:55) than Standard O Lionel and MTH Premier, which in general is closer to scale (1:48). If you compare a piece of rolling stock from each line you'll definitely see a difference, despite the fact that the couplers are basically the same and they run on the same track.

    The new [about 2004 on] Railking is now scale [old was not]. Detail is not as good as Primier or Lionel's engines.
