is anything listed as "standard O" from lionel 1:48? no matter the year?

i know about post war and some of the newer lionel, but anything from the 1970's and 1980's i dont know much about. or even the 1990's for that matter.

The answer to your question is yes. All Lionel Std O branded stuff is 1:48 with concessions made for 3 rail operation (i.e. truck mounted couplers, sometimes height of frame above rail heads is a bit high to allow for increased coupler swing required for tight 3 rail curves.).

BTW - the Std O freight cars made by Lionel the last 4-5 years are really detailed (ie see thru roof walks, finer ladders, etc.) compared to the earlier std O offerings.

im trying to switch over to 1:48 scale stuff where i can, but im not finding a lot of the newer stuff in my favorite road name,,, "rock island" but i seen that there is alot of lionel rock island stuff from the 1970,s and some in the 1980's. some of it is STD O.
