It was busy night for me. During last few minutes I almost ruined
everything because the mast after all processing was not fitting
in the hole in front superstructure. But finally I made it.
Later during the day I will make more pictures of it.

Quite a beautiful and brilliant build!:)

It's been a true joy to see you put this one together, wonderful attention to all the little details.

Get some rest, relax and then...post more photos!

Thanks for letting us watch you build this little gem!

Cheers!
Jim

Hello again.

The model is theoretically finished but I got from one of the
viewers of my build the display box. So this I think means
that the Ambrose project is back.

The display size is not the perfect one. As you see below
there are different possibilities of using it.

This above is OK but I think I should use some picture
for the background like this one.

There is other option where I home more plase to build small diorama

I think about Ambrose and the Tugboat in the South Street Seaport Museum
like on this picture.

I'm not decided yet what to do. Next week I will start some tests
(e.g. how to make water from silicon) and slowly I will build the diorama.

Hello. I prepared the background for my diorama.

Now I have to decide how to setup it in my display. There are two options
as you see below. I think I will choose the second one.

The only problem is the part of the pier marked yellow which I think
I have to remove.

I just read a news article about harnessing the rivers power for electricity generating and
although they did not go into specifics, it said the river is cleaner now than it was 30 years ago.
They also stated the fish are coming back there.
Apparently, although disgusting, it used to be a lot worse.
It must have been pretty horrible if the fish couldn't or wouldn't live there.
I'm glad to see that there is improvement and apparently ongoing efforts to make it better.

That is one beautiful model and is going to make a striking diorama! Congrats to you!8)

I used to work downtown Manhattan (I moved last year to Mineola), and visited the South Street Seaport many, many times...the water is exactly what you would expect around a major city, but perhaps cleaner than it used to be. Fishing is better now, but I still wouldn't drink the water.

Superb idea for a diorama...just how much of the surrounding pier did you plan to use? There is a little cafe on the pier adjacent to the Ambrose, which you see in the photo, with chairs and tables used on a nice day. And I imagine you will not also build the small tug that's tied along side of her.

I haven't seen many dioramas with ships, usually they are displayed underway, infrequently at anchor and rarely at the pier...so, it would be very unique, interesting and quite attractive, I think. Can't wait to see how it turns out!

Cheers!

I plan to build the cafe and the tug.
It will take some time because my first priority
is HMS Alert now but slowly I will finish it.
