Here's a question for those electrically dominant.

The specs : 8 feet wide /24 feet long "U" shaped layout.

Where is the best place to locate my 2 control master 20's to acheive balanced power throughout the layout.? They obviously have hand held controls which will be positioned around the layout.
I'm using block contol - and I hope to run 14 gauge power line from the power pack and 20 gauge to the track.(Is that correct also?)

Suggestions as to the best place for these powerpacks is welcome.

At first glance I'd say right in the center of the U, equal distance from each end. If you are using #14 for a power bus, it may not make that big a difference. One question though, where are your block switches going to be located? It apppears they are going to be throughout the layout, close to each block otherwise you wouldn't be running power buses..

Something to consider, why not run the power bus clear around in a loop and back to the source? Connect both ends to the power pack and that will help balance the load.
