You must always be truthful and honest when asked what it is made of. Tell them that it's made from paper...,

    Hi Mark,

As you see we are getting closer and closer, soon the it will be the forum member from round the corner saying hello!

Time to launch the United Paper (and Card) Modelers of Yorkshire users group again...

What kind of things are you going to build?

Whitby is the best place on this earth. I wish I could live there too (came close once or twice).

    thanks guys!

as you probably can tell from my forum name i'm a goth and i live in whitby! :O))

    david... maltonian eh??

i'm a long time modeler as i said in my 1st post. i've mostly done 1/35 panzers and the like, but also some 25th and 15th/16th stuff too....

was really into 25mm fantasy and scifi figures in the late 80's and early 90's and won a few competitions.

have built and flown radio control aircraft since my mid teens but have found i don't like flying ( read crashing) models that i spent a couple of years on making!

i plan on doing some scifi stuff in paper to get my hand in and then i'm gonna focus on some 25th tanks!!!!

also very interested in designing my own models as i'm pretty acomplished as a 3d artist using a program called lightwave and have alot of origional designs that only exist inside my puter!

is it ok to post pics of stuff that ain't paper????

Oh not another Yorkshire member! (only kidding) seriously is there something in the water up there, I am from kent and there is a lack of models of any sort down here. If I need any parts for my R/C stuff (planes and cars) I have to get it mail order from- yep you guessed it yorkshire as most of the RC model shops are up there. Down my way the model shops tend to mainly specialise in diecasts........yawn Zzzzzzzzz!

Just a streak of pure awkwardness and pig-headedness that should have died out a long time ago.

I also express strong miserly tendencies.

Hello from Harrogate! Love Whitby, spend a lot of time there. Looking forward to seeing your models!
  16. Yorkshire, the Texas of England

Being born and lived in Hornsea for 40 years I have visited Whitby, Malton and Harrogate a lot over the years and go back when I can - about once a year if I'm lucky. Welcome to this forum. As an occaisional contributer I have found everyone very welcoming and helpful.

I'm still making plastic kits but I am getting into this medium as it is very exciting to see what can be done and I keep thinking what if I scale this up....?

But the rest of the 2 weeks at Castle Howard railway station was much more fun for a little lad. :)
How come we're getting swamped with people from t' wrong side o' t' Pennines ?

    But of course welcome.

    Hello GT
Try this model shop - Avicraft Ltd, 15 Chatterton Rd, Bromley, Kent. When I lived in England I always used to buy my R/C Aircraft from them. Good people and friendly.
    Best regards beejay
