Thought I'd see if we could collect a bunch of stories here, purely for entertainment. Have you ever had a project come out so good, so perfect, but had no idea how you did it?
Here's my example- I was ballasting track, nothing fancy, Woodland Scenics grey blend over Atlas track air brushed with Rail Brown paint. Was using diluted Matt Medium, didn't spray first with wet water, had the soap mixed in with the glue.
Anyway, all went really well, but when I went to check on my handy work the next morning, I guess the glue mix thinned and spread some of the rail brown paint, ever so slightly, but enough to notice and it was PERFECT! There is now a weathered strip in between the rails that I have been unable to duplicate since. It looks absolutely awesome and I can't figure out how to do it again!
Well, I'm sure I will eventually, but it has driven me crazy for 2 weeks now. I'm sure there are similar experiences out there.
