That hayseed didn't figger he had enough horsepower in that Cub Cadet so he pulled out his poppin' Johnny and 4 row plow for Momma's garden, I guess:D

Darn took forever to find these pics.:D

This one shows what you can do to a Con-Cor/Herpa (N scale) Freightliner COE with some Evergreen Styrene and some spare time. This is the tractor pulling the trailers further back in the thread.

This one is part ATLAS and part Athearn and also N scale.cab and front of chassis is ATLAS,bed and rear of chassis is Athearn.Headache rack is scratchbuilt because the model C part was not tall enough.

Came upon some Athearn poppin' Johnnys @ $2.74 each today at Wal-Mart. 'Bout fell of my scooter when I saw these...that's a Deere backhoe I picked up at a local festival for $5 in the back.

The first shot is of Johnny Lightning's WWII issue of which I picked up these 5. They go very well with the Mini-Tanks and Roco issues. The next two are Matchbox Collectable series. I have fifteen of these and they are beautifully detailed. They say they are 1/100 but I see no discernable difference between them and my other HO trucks. The next is a Johnny Lightning Coca-Cola International series, one of the best soda truck models out there for the money.

The flatbed on the right started out life looking like the one on the left. I still need to add tail lights and a little road grime.

Say, Shaygetz! Fantastic Trucks! Can you still purchase them? I espically like the Johnny lightnings! I need a couple of "Deuce and a halves" for my layout,, as well as that Pete with the Freuhauf Trailer! Nice! :thumb: How much they go for?

Long forgotton project put back on the burner.:D

I started this one about 5 years ago and put it away with the decision to go to N scale. Now that I have a HO layout in the planning stages it's time to think about finishing it.

ftruck2.jpg

This truck is part ATLAS.part Model Power, and part Herpa, and getting a baby brother in N scale using a Bachmann firetruck donor.

[Edit] That should read part IHC not Model Power.Like I said at the atart "Long forgotton project"

Yes, you can still find them...and at full retail if you're not careful, $24.95-29.95. I picked up mine at a local fleamarket---with all original packing and boxes---for $5 a pop. They're known as Matchbox Collectables. You can find them on Ebay for $6-10. The Johnny Lightnings I haven't seen in over a year now, don't know what your chances are of finding those.

Here are some more Match box Collectables...and a Behn Originale flatbed made by GEFRA. It had a plastic model of a bottle of Dooley's Original Vodka Toffee Cream Liqueur mounted on the bed, obviously a promo freebie of some sort left to die, smuthered by dust bunnies, in a remote corner of the clubhouse. I couldn't resist the Black with chrome football mask road warrior look so I tossed the bottle and plopped a Noscott loader on it. Those lime green wheels and Dooley eyeball graphics just make it all the sicker:thumb:
