Beginning of the build of the HMS Repulse From GreMir. It is bigger than I thought, Have to find room for it when I am done!.
After laminating to thick card I am in the process of cutting out the frames.

I love the pictures of this model on GreMir's website. It's gorgeous.

I will watch this build with much anticipation.

Keep the updates rolling Padre.

After laminating, cutting and gluing the frames are done. Now to sand smooth and move on to the hull plating.
47 1/4 inches, almost 4 feet in length.

This is one big model, have to be careful when swinging it around to wok on one side or the other.

Great looking work! I find building the hull is a major hurdle. I can't tell you how many unfinished hulls I have laying around the shop! I'm looking forward to seeing some of your excellent detail work.

The hull is one of the harder parts for me too. I usually have small gaps in the plating and sometimes I can filll them with a small thin sliver of paper. If not I just leave them. I have seen some builders fill them in with putty and then paint the hull, it looks good but I just want the paper without paint (sharpies ok). This is a big hull so when I think I am done I realize I still have the OTHER side to do................ Will post more photos when done with hull.

Looks really good, Padre. This is gonna be a beauty when finished. Does it come with photoetch for the small parts?

GreMir is all on CD or direct download. So is printed on your very own printer.

Finally finished the hull of the Repulse, now I can go to the fun parts. should have shaped the frames better as i had some small gaps along the widest parts of the platting, cut some extra long red pars and ran it along the seam there, looks like extra amour platting so not to bad. Anyone looking at it will not know the difference as they do not know ships sign1.

Looking great! I like that scale cube with the petty officer 3rd class on it. Where can I pick one up? I can make out what the job type is but I hope its boatswains mate :)

Progress on HMS Repulse. Have the 01 deck done and railing posts in.

yes, the Arizona from DN was my first "real" build.

More progress of HMS Repulse, use straight pins and 32 gauge wire for stanchion and railings.
