Hi all, I'm new to this group, so I thought I'd say hello. As kids my brother and I had a pretty elaborate Lionel 0/027 gauge train lay out that we played with constantly. Kids grow out of trains, and we did too, so they were boxed and stored in my parent's attic for years. As adults my brother and I decided that trains were still fun, so we divided the rolling stock and accessories and tried to create our own train layouts. Jobs happen, kids happen, and life happens, and after a few years the trains ended up back in the attic (mine this time) for another twenty five years. Then grandchildren happen, and they happen to be Thomas the Train fanatics, so the trains came out at Christmas, and I discovered that model trains were still great fun. So now I'm once more trying to figure out how to have a REALLY BIG 0 gauge layout (do any of you remember the Lionel set up at the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry?), and enjoying the time I spend in my shop rebuilding Lionel engines. I'm also trying to figure out how to convince my wife that I need to add a room to an already huge garage so that I can run trains. I think I will play the grandchildren card.
