N scale, older Life Like, F40PH. I am trying to turn it into a dummy but it is getting the best of me. After removing the motor, there is still a lot of rolling friction and so I need to take out the gears and clean the wheel assembly in the hopes that it will roll better. Problem is, I can not figure out how to get both trucks separated from the frame. It appears that the middle strip on the bottom pops out to reveal the whole gear assembly but I can not quite get it to come out. Seems as if something is keeping it locked in place. I spent some time on the net looking for techincal drawings to no avail. Help!!!!
Have any idea how this comes apart?

Is there a little metal bar that goes through the gear tower just above the frame? Some trucks come apart when that is pulled out.
David is right, there are small pins holding the trucks on in the gear tower. They push out in one direction so whichever way gets them out.
