That is an older Kyosho nitro motor. I haven't been able to find much in the way of info on this motor other than it was packaged with several of their kits. The following link shows an exploded view.

As far as a HP rating, my best guess would be around .56hp as most of the RTR nitro kits came with user friendly but low power nitro motors.

You may want to try the Traxxas 2.5 motor.

that looks great thanks. does anybody know what hp this engine has. also i dont understand how the starter works? is it a motor that you switch on via your transmitter to start the engine?

The Traxxas onboard starter uses a small electric motor that is activated by a hand held unit that contains a battery pack. This unit spins the nitro motor and also supplies voltage to the glow plug. Once the motor starts, you disengage the unit.

thanks steve your help has been fantastic!!!

i bet its possible to make the starter remote control? anybody know the weight of the engine and the hp

The handheld unit uses a 6-cell 7.2v battery pack and I imagine you could incorporate that into your bot if the weight isn't a problem.

Send an email to the guys at Traxxas and ask about the HP rating and weight. They may get a kick out of your nitro bot idea.
