That is why I've been working 3 day weeks for a month... not fun, hard to keep the bills paid
Ok I tried mixing techniques from Plastic modeling with my paper craft. I've tried to dirty up the FV101
The first pic is the front view of the FV101 main hull as built,
And the next is dirtied up.
The left side.
And dirtied up.
And finally the rear
not bad but not the effect I was hoping for, I'll try another technique latter.
Wow, that is just, WOW! You really brought that to life! That was a pleasant surprise!
Thank you, I will work on the turret tomorrow after I get my full time truck home.
Nice work and nice job
I just want to take a moment to thank those of you who view these models and post your thoughts, that is the essence of what this forum is for,
Thank you all.
I started on the turret today but didn't get far, the turret hull is done with the blast doors and ammo container in place.
I'll try to work on it some more tomorrow.
I agree. I think that some people don't understand that just letting it be known that they looked at the model, and saying a simple "Good job" goes a long way. I am still taken with the weathering you did!
A little update: I'm back to working full time so hobby time is cut down.
The gun tube is rolled and installed along with the mantlet Mantle? (sic?)
anyhoo here are the pics.
enjoy and more updates to come.
If I may ask, where did you get this model at?
You are doing a really good job on this model.
Keep up the great work.
Here is a website that I think that you will like. It has quite a few tanks and planes.
Nice straight barrel. Looking good.
I too like the weathering. Never though of weathering afterwards, I always though it would have to be on the kit.
thanks. I always weather my other subjects so why not paper.
the seam is on the bottom and it is visable but from the side or above it looks good.
thanks RB this kit is actually in the
Zealot download section Ill look at the link when I make it home
All the major pieces of the turret are in place.
all that's left are the greeblies and the crew.
more to come
FV101 Scorpion finished.
My fingers couldn't fold the grebelies for the top of the turret, and I mangled the first crewman so I installed two crew and closed the third hatch.
I tried using tweezers to fold the little pats and still ripped them. So I added an antenna from stretched sprue.
I'll get started on my next build shortly. Thanks everyone
amazing fast and good looking model. you really captured the used look of an acctual fv101. you did a fine job soildior
Wow! That came out great!! The turret is excellent. Superb job, I love it!
You did a FANTASTIC job on this model.
That is a nice clean build.
Thank you for sharing your work with us.
I look forward to seeing more of it.
Thanks all again, I have to keep the wife happy by making one for her right quick, then I saw a plan for a deck box for MtG that I am going to make. then new ink cartridges and I'll start on that Raptor build.
