I feel this strange sensation of being pulled toward the light! I hear bells and whistles, alarms and grinding of the smoke from the ears yet tho...

I will do my best to select a free downloadable model to 1/1000
(heh heh heh)!(you think I am joking?).

    I'm out!
I wanted to biuld AlbionRising's Winlow Engine 3 for the first Free contest. Then when this one was anounced I thought I could try again. But as a Build Report is a MUST.... Sorry, No Can Do!! No Camera!! I had a frind ready to take pictures of the finished build for me. But Not sit beside me the entire time I build.

When you do another one that does not need the build report I might enter. But Unless someone has a used camera available CHEAP or FREE!! I can't do a 'Build Report'.

Not the "Cleopatra", but off & on with the "Ross Winans". Got caught up in other projects, and it's on the shelve waiting for me to get back into it. Great model.. Looking forward to your upcoming releases..

    Hi Dnlgtr....

Well, you can WRITE a "build report". You don't have to have pictures of every step. I just find it easier to explain myself by using pictures. (You know.... a picture is worth a thousand words! :) ) You might cut, paste, save as jpeg, from the plans, to illustrate a certain part or poceedure.

Of course, you will still need at least one picture, .... to enter ... for the voters to look at!

    Hope this helps..... Bill

@ Phil.... I'll bet that you are NOT joking. However, I won't hold you to it! :)

    Re: DNLGTR

    Hey DNLGTR,

Just wanted to let you know there are cheap disposable digital cameras that you can now buy at stores. That's right you heard me, DISPOSABLE digital cameras that you can use to take pictures with.

But to make this deal even sweeter, you can make it reusable! So you don't have to throw it away after you're done!

Check here to hack that camera to make it reusable.

Don't worry, Dan. I bet you can find $15.00 dls on coins hiding in the couch and get a keychain camera at Walmart.

There are 80+ guests on the forum at certain given time, more than 1 of them should be... (hooked)... The word FREE always attracts clicks.

    I have 2 questions.
1..Who sells those 'disposible' digital cameras??

2.. I have seen that $15.00 Keychain at WalMart. What is the pixel rating?? Is it woth the price?? Does anybody have one??

Yes I thought about a 'Verbal only' build report. But as you say.... A Picture is worth.... so decided against it.

Wal Mart should have them disposable cams......................

But.............I found a digital camera non-removeable memory and no micro lens but it was only 20 bucks from there.................I keep it in the boat to prove some of my fishing stories:grin:

Hooks up via USB cable and comes with software to download the pictures to your hard drive.

Look around and see what you can find..........

I looked at 2 'Bargain' Cameras at WalMart this morning.
The $15.00 version gives '288x320' pics No Megapixel rating.(But i doubt it is even 1 Meg)
A $20.00 gives 480x600?? pics. (Again I doubt any MEg in this 1)

Remember guys... I Have NO income, so I won't be getting a camera any time soon. Even at these prices. (Plus I don't want one of these if I can't get a good picturee out of it.)

No, these are both just fractions of a megapixel, only suitable for images used online or in email.

About the largest pic you'd want to post here would be about 640x480 so the $20 model is OK from that standpoint.

A lot of other things factor in, so an expensive camera taking 640x480 will do beter than a keychain camera can. Plus, you don't have the flash, so you'd need good ambient light.

I'd be interested to see the pics taken from one of these if anyone has one. That's really the only way to tell if it'd be worth bothering with.

I've got to send that to Bubba!

OK the camera I used was a Vivitar ViviCam 55 and it will only take 640x480 pics.

i checked on some of those keychain cams last night,,i did find one rated at 1.3 mp....for 20 bucks at wally world.....i would just be concerned with the close up capabilities,,,,,,i take all my pictures within 5 inches of what i am working on and not sure you could get that close with a cheapie,,,,might be worth a try for those that have one,,,,,,,,
