Frank was the prime mover behind Aberfoyle Junction, the large O scale display layout. He was a skilled scatchbuilder; he said he developed the skill when he was travelling and staying in hotel rooms.
I once sat next to Frank at our craftsman's display table: I was building cardboard kits; he was putting rivets in a scartchbuilt van by drilling holes and inserting plastic rod.
Aberfoyle Junction is scheduled to be open later this month; no word yet on whether they'll go ahead.
