For the designers: MS FLIGHT models

Can they be used as a "3D" source for creating paper models? The SIMS guys do a lot of design and trading of their Flight models, which might be a cool resource for us paper geeks... if we can just figure out how to use their work.

You bet

This is actually done on a regular basis, although it's not always as easy as it sounds. Many of those designers use 3D Studio or other common, well-supported tools to make their models, and it's easy enough to get hold of the models, the work comes in adjusting it so it will actually unfold and be buildable.

There's no shortage of material these days, that's for sure.
