What makes that headlight have a golden glow?

The headlights in both locos are MV Products lenses. Some of these lenses seem to yellow with age, and even though the 3529 has a recent paint job, the lense is fairly old. The 506 was painted a couple of years ago, I think, and the lense was installed new at that time.
