Engine problem

Greetings
I have a problem with a life like GP 38. when I try to run it all that happens is the light lights and a slight hum no movement, any idea what could be wrong.

Is this a LifeLike trainset loco, or a Proto 2000? I've heard that the P2K diesels have a tendancy to have the axle gears split, and slip on the axles. If it is new, take it back to the shop where you got it. They should be able to find out what's wrong, and fix it.

It is a used engine. I dont think it is a protther than the slight hum nothing else happens.

Sounds like something is jammed in the drive. Like Pete said, something might of split or even just a piece of dirt or something caught in the gears. If you have a diagram, you can take apart the drive gears, clean them and re lube them.
Give this a try...Before the ultimate.....Turning it into a projectile.

double make sure your track is not conected to the AC terminals on your power pack!!
