Trimbach, Switzerland
US models & Swiss prototypes

In the first pic a pair of (modified ATLAS) SW1500 engines of the 'Trim Creek Southern' with a cut of cars grinding uphill. (A scene from my N scale layout - 30 years ago...)

Then there are two Swiss prototype diesel switchers:
First the biggest diesel engine, a 'Bm 6/6' - used as a switcher and also as an emergency loco (when a catenary line was damaged somewhere). Peculiarity: She had TWO diesel engines, and you could run with only one in order to save some fuel! :D They are retired now...

The third one shows their successor - the newest thing in diesel switchers for Switzerland, an 'Am843' - I don't even know the technical details yet, but at least I shot one of them a few months ago.

Gary. thank you. It is only Wednesday, so I think I am allowed to post another photo: C&O sw9/1200 #5088. BTW, where are all the switchers you have in your collections? announce1 Come on, boys, I’d like to see some more pictures!

Kurt, looks like your photo didn't make it, all I see is the dreaded red mark. I had forgotten we could post more than one photo here. Here are a couple more.

Gary, that’s strange. I can see the photo. O.K. I try it again. BTW, ist this NYC loco with the lightning stripes a Kato RS2? Nice engine. I could get a Kato RS2 ATSF at a reasonable price, but I am still hesitating to buy it. Can you recommend the Kato RS2?

Yes, this is not a contest, so there are no restrictions on how many photo's you can post. You have until the end of the week - Aug 19th - to add to this thread, and then we'll start a new one. :D :D :D

Canada, eh?
Does anybody else here think that these threads should be a little more specific. I've already shown almost my entire diesel roster and if the next category is "Steam Engines", all I'll have left will be speeders and handcars.:eek:ops:

Wayne, I think your are right, we should be more specific. I think we should have separate threads for EMD switchers, Geeps, F-units, Alcos, Baldwins, Mikados etc. or we are through with it in two or three weeks.

That's a good point Wayne. For the first time I tried to be fairly inclusive.

But.... the Engine of the Week thread can be started by anyone, and whoever starts it gets to pick the topic. So, how about you start our next one and make it more specific.

Well, Val started out with switcher models but then added road switchers. I went with switcher but then added some road switchers when so many of them were posted. But I see no one posted any cab units so we still have those. And the steam could be done by wheel arraingment. Then electrics and turbines.

Caught this Southern Pacific SD40T-2 passing CoverAll Paints this morning pulling a short string through town. First sighting of this new diesel on this road...
